Hi! I’m Emily. I like to write and I like to experience new things, whether it’s travelling to a new country, trying a new food or enjoying a day out. That’s how flipflopsandbackpack came about.
Travel has always been a big part of my life. Growing up, I was lucky enough to be taken on some fantastic family holidays. I then took a Gap Year and jetted off to LA, Fiji, New Zealand, Australia and Thailand with a friend for four months. Since then, I’ve got the travelling bug. For my honeymoon I managed to nab three weeks off work to travel round Malaysia and Borneo.
My other passions include fabulous food (I’m the Editor of two food magazines), trips to the theatre and performance (I’m also studying acting at Rose Bruford College of Theatre & Performance).
From month-long trips to weekends away, yummy meals out and fun day trips in the UK, any adventure I feel is worth writing about will be recorded in this blog.
